Types of Kapolei Criminal Court Records

Criminal court records in Kapolei include cases from both the Waianae District Court and, for felonies, the main First Circuit Court in Honolulu. District Court records cover misdemeanors, traffic offenses, and minor criminal matters. Once charges are filed, the case file includes the complaint, arraignment records, hearing dates, motions, court orders, and final disposition. These are public records accessible at the courthouse or through eCourt Kokua.

Some Kapolei records are not accessible. Juvenile cases from Family Court are sealed under UIPA exceptions and Hawaii law. Family Court records involving minors, adoption, or guardianship have restricted access. Cases sealed by court order require a new order to access. Social Security numbers and other personal identifiers are redacted. Non-conviction records are confidential under HCJDC's policies.

For Kapolei traffic cases, certified traffic abstracts must be purchased at the Kapolei courthouse — the online eCourt Kokua display is not the official record and cannot substitute for a certified abstract. Contact the Waianae District Court at (808) 954-8575 to confirm procedures for traffic record requests.

Kapolei Court Record Fees and Request Process
